The bed and breakfast the village is an apartment for the exclusive use of a detached villa with veranda, garden and private parking. Is located in a quiet area a few minutes from the Sassi (centro storico), so it's ideal for those who want to make a holiday in complete relaxation. You can leave your car in our private car park and take the bus to the city centre.

IL SORRISO DEI SASSI ROOMS is a 18th century building, it is divided into two functionally different floors. On the first floor raised from the street thanks to a large staircase, there is the entrance that leads to the RECEPTION and the deluxe studio apartment CIVITA HOUSE. On the upper floor there are the four rooms: the Junior Suite BELVEDERE the Superior Deluxe IDRIS the Deluxe CASTELLO the Standard NIDO all the rooms are equipped with every comfort to ensure you a relaxing stay.

The artist's House composed by two independent environments each with living and sleeping area. The rooms have been named after Carlo Levi, who so well described Matera in Christ stopped at Eboli and Petra, Biblical town twinned with Matera. Heated and air conditioned rooms are equipped with every comfort and a strong presence of natural wood, a stone wall, stone elements and, lest we forget, a quote by Carlo Levi.

The bed and breakfast is located on the historic Castelvecchio climb adjacent to Piazza Duomo, in the Civita district (built on the spur that separates the Sasso Caveoso from the Barisano). A suggestive location, which allows guests to admire the beauties of the 3 districts on foot without having to need a car during their stay. The bed & breakfast, luxuriously renovated, belonged to the historic family of elite Matera Malvini Malvezzi.
