Marta is located in the province of Viterbo, just a few kilometers from both Umbria and Tuscany. The town lies on the western shore of Lake Bolsena and is undoubtedly one of the jewels of the upper Tuscia area. Its historic center will enchant you with its order and geometric perfection. This is because each tuff house is carefully nestled and adorned with beautiful plants that add color to the cobbled streets. The lakefront is also wonderful, and I recommend walking along it from La Cava beach to the small harbor. Marta is a fishing village. The area where the waterworkers live is located on the southern shore and is the most characteristic and picturesque. The most striking features are the colorful houses and the presence of traditional boats moored there. The town is also strategically located for visiting nearby charming and historic villages such as Sutri, Tarquinia, and Civita di Bagnoregio, where you can enjoy the thermal waters and, last but not least, the enchanting sea just a half-hour drive away.
