Where We are

There is a station about a fifteen-minute walk from the city center and port. To reach the city from the station turn left out of the station onto Via Don Minzoni, go straight for five blocks and from there until you find the beach and go left along Via Garibaldi.

Alghero station operates trains for Ferrovie della Sardegna, not to be confused with Ferrovie dello Stato (Trenitalia). These are two separate companies, and you will have to take one of the many daily trains from Alghero to Sassari in order to catch a train operated by Trenitalia that connects another destination such as Cagliari. Tickets must be purchased separately at the respective ticket offices. The price of the Alghero-Sassari ticket is Eur 2.20. Sassari-Cagliari at the standard second-class price will be Eur 13.65.
Fertilia Airport "Riviera del Corallo" is about 10 km from the city center. It is connected to several domestic and international airports.

Reaching Alghero by car

It is easy to drive through the streets of Alghero with a car. But you may have trouble finding a parking space. In the city center there are many spaces highlighted in blue. This means that c parking is unattended but charged.

There is also free parking near the marina where you can leave your car with no time limit. It is possible to visit Sardinia by renting a car. It is worth it as an overall expense, and will allow you to visit some of the most remote and fascinating places and areas. You can find many companies that offer car rentals such as Hertz and Avis.


Reaching Alghero by bus

There is a direct bus from Cagliari to Alghero. The cost is  20 and takes 3.5 hours


Reaching Alghero by sea

The nearest passenger port to Alghero is in Porto Torres (about. 40 km). The port of Porto Torres is connected to Barcelona, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Marseille, Propriano and Ajaccio (Corsica).
